How Calico Started
It all started at 4am with a determine Mama that wanted to make her very first set of bell bottoms for her own little girl on the way! There was lots of trial and errors, but it created a spark for Reagan (the owner) to start her own small business! Calico was started in 2022 in honor of her very first horse, which is also featured in our logo! He is a 20 year old paint named Scout and was sold to Reagan in 2019 for $500... Scout might have been old but it didn't matter to her because she had never had the opportunity to own her own horse which she dreamt of when she was a little girl. Since then Reagan has bonded closely to Scout and dreams of one day competing in mounted shooting with him.
Calico is for the little girl or boy who might not have grown up on a ranch or farm or with money. But dream of one day being that cowgirl or cowboy they looked up to and doesn't make any excuses. Anyone should be welcomed into the western world regardless of their background, we all share the same passion wether its horses, cattle, or farming.
